About Honey Do Handbook
You buy a house and nobody hands you a manual. There is no orientation. The previous owner is gone, half of what they did is hidden behind drywall, and the first time you find out how something works is the day it stops working.
That is the gap this site is for.
Who it's for
People in roughly their first three years of owning a house. Not tradespeople, not hobbyist woodworkers — people standing in front of something, trying to work out whether it is urgent, expensive, or neither.
What we write
Three things. Understanding the house you actually bought, before anything breaks. The maintenance that genuinely matters, with the upsells named as upsells. And the yard, which is most of what people are looking at from the window and have no idea what to do with.
The question underneath nearly every piece is the same one: can I do this myself, or am I about to make it worse. We try to answer that one honestly, including when the answer is call somebody.
How it pays for itself
Every article is free. Some links are affiliate links, which we disclose plainly. And we sell a few downloads we made ourselves — the kind of paperwork everyone means to put together and never does.
